Symptoms
Low resting voltage, services shutting down, charger not completing the charge.
Probable causes
- End-of-life or sulphated batteries
- Parasitic loads
- Charger/alternator badly regulated
- Corroded connections
Solution
Test battery capacity and open-circuit voltage, measure the resting current draw, check the charger/alternator output and clean and tighten the connections. Replace exhausted batteries with a correctly sized bank.
