Symptoms
Hard starting, hesitation, stalling at idle, loss of power when accelerating.
Probable causes
- Stale or water-contaminated fuel (ethanol)
- Dirty carburettors/injectors
- Saturated fuel filter/water separator
- Faulty primer bulb or check valves
- Worn spark plugs
Solution
Replace the fuel and the filter/water separator, clean the carburettors/injectors, and check the spark plugs and fuel pump. Use a fuel stabiliser for winter storage.
