Symptoms
The genset does not lock to the grid, frequency oscillations, protections tripping.
Probable causes
- AVR badly adjusted
- Slow governor/actuator
- Faulty phase sensors/PTs
- Synchroniser out of adjustment
Solution
Check AVR and governor settings, check the measuring transformers and the synchroscope, and recalibrate the automatic synchroniser.
