Symptoms

Probable causes
- Compass/heading sensor not calibrated
- Magnetic interference near the sensor
- Steering parameters (gain/rudder) not optimal
- Slow actuator/steering pump
Solution
Carry out the compass calibration (linearisation), move the sensor away from magnetic masses, tune the response parameters and check the rudder actuator/pump and the limit switches.
